ACC Releases March 2025 Resin Production and Sales Statistics

WASHINGTON, DC (April 28, 2025) – U.S. production of major plastic resins totaled 8.8 billion pounds during March 2025, an increase of 10.4 percent compared to the prior month, and an increase of 2.2 percent compared to the same month in 2024, according to statistics released today by the American Chemistry Council (ACC).  Year-to-date production was 25.1 billion pounds, a 0.1 percent increase as compared to the same period in 2024.

Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 8.6 billion pounds during March 2025, an increase of 8.5 percent compared to the prior month, and an increase of 3.6 percent from the same month one year earlier. Year-to-date sales and captive use were 24.9 billion pounds, a 0.7 percent decrease as compared to the same period in 2024.
