Director, Advocacy Communications

The position is responsible for serving as an American Chemistry Council (ACC) direct contact and spokesperson – both proactively and reactively – to DC, national and trade media outlets on assigned priority issues of the organization as well as designing and executing strategic advocacy communications plans, strategies, and campaigns. This position is responsible for developing and producing integrated, advocacy messages and platforms targeting policymakers, staff, regulators and the public for purposes of impacting advocacy audiences to advance ACC’s priority issues. That includes cultivating and maintaining relationships with national and trade media and teaming with internal resources to develop public affairs and media plans and strategies, pitch compelling story ideas, and generate coverage of key issues.  The position serves in an “on-the-record” capacity, as needed, and reports directly to the Senior Director, Advocacy Communications.

Executive Assistant, Administration

The position is responsible for providing high-level administrative support to the Human Resources, Information Technology and Business Services’ departments, including updating databases, preparing correspondence, scheduling appointments, answering telephones, and handling meeting logistics.  The position reports directly to the Vice President, Human Resources and Administration.

Specialist, Marketing and Events

The position is responsible for supporting the marketing team in several initiatives including the management and execution of events and webinars as well as the biannual CHEMTREC International Hazmat Summit. The position is also responsible for assisting with the procurement of promotional materials and marketing collateral for events and customer visits. The position also performs social media duties, as needed, and reports directly to the Director, Marketing.

Senior Director, Meetings and Conferences

The position is responsible for overseeing the execution of all American Chemistry Council (ACC) executive level conferences and board-related events.  The position is further responsible for directing and overseeing ACC’s Conference Center and reports directly to the Vice President, Governance, Strategy and Corporate Secretary.

Executive Assistant

The position is responsible for providing high-level administrative support to the Legal Services group, including preparing legal invoices, tracking budget and complete expense reports, maintaining correspondence, documenting files, scheduling meetings, and preparing documents. Assistant General Counsel

The position is responsible for providing legal counsel and policy support on American Chemistry Council (ACC) advocacy issues, protecting ACC’s legal interests and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.  The position is also responsible for managing legal matters in assigned areas, including assisting in the selection of outside counsel as needed, managing outside counsel, and ensuring projects come in at or below budget.   The position coordinates legal issues with appropriate in-house ACC clients and colleagues and reports directly to the General Counsel.

Director, Product Groups

The position is responsible for serving as the designated staff executive and managing all aspects of assigned groups within the Chemical Products and Technology (CPT) division, including directing administrative, technical, advocacy, and planning services. The position will provide support and manage specific CPT groups and consortia. The position works closely with key internal and external stakeholders and coordinates across ACC on key cross-cutting policy issues. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, CPT.

Senior Director, Chemical Management, Regulatory Policy and Strategy

The position will serve as a subject matter expert, advocate and policy resource for the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) regulatory advocacy efforts, including support of federal, state and international chemical management policy.   The position is responsible for combining policy, regulatory and business knowledge with leadership and strategic planning skills to advance ACC’s chemical management and regulatory activities by navigating highly complex and interrelated policy topics as well as examining issues, positions, and the regulatory and political environment. The position will work with the Vice President, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs, and the Senior Director, Regulatory Science Policy to develop, implement and deploy strategies which advance chemical management and regulatory priorities. The position will collaborate across ACC and work closely with ACC member company representatives to support the chemical industry. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Regulatory & Scientific Affairs.

Coordinator, Chemical Products and Technology

The position is responsible for supporting designated staff with administrative, financial management and planning services provided to groups within the Chemical Products and Technology (CPT) division.  This includes handling meeting logistics, tracking budgets, managing contracts and payments, conducting research, responding to inquiries, preparing documents, and maintaining electronic and paper-based files.  This position also directly supports select CPT groups and overall CPT operations, including management of assigned task groups, projects, websites, systems, and operations.

Junior Accounting Specialist

The position is responsible for assisting the other junior accounting specialist, the accounting specialist, and the Manager, Accounting Operations with renewal and new sales invoicing processes, A/R-Collections to include tracking and resolving outstanding payments, and any other duties needing assistance. The position will also involve processing refunds on customer invoices and reports directly to the Manager, Accounting Operations.

Manager, Responsible Care® and Program Communications

The position is responsible for supporting and enhancing strategic communications, media outreach and stakeholder education for the American Chemistry Council (ACC). The position will focus on communications initiatives which emphasize advancing awareness of Responsible Care®, the chemical industry’s leading safety and sustainability initiative, and other Corporate Responsibility (CR) programs. This includes communications support and media outreach for chemical industry programs on safety, environmental stewardship, workforce development, environmental justice, and community engagement, among other issue areas. The position is responsible for protecting ACC’s legal interests and operations, in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws. The position is also responsible for overseeing ACC’s Legal Services staff. The position serves as the chief legal officer for ACC and the Board of Directors, including managing and overseeing Executive Committee and Board operations. The position reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer.
