The American Chemistry Council is proud to be a Founding Partner of the Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI), with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Chemours and The HBCU Week Foundation.

FOSSI is a national, chemical industry-led program that aims to increase the number of underrepresented groups entering and succeeding in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields in the workforce.

FOSSI Event

FOSSI provides $40,000 scholarships to incoming college freshman pursuing preferred STEM degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Importantly, FOSSI is not just a scholarship program. It also connects students to more than 80 chemical and affiliated industry sponsors and enables student access to mentoring, leadership training, internship opportunities, and networking.

FOSSI aims to bring together the chemical industry’s collective might to make a significant impact on the future chemical industry workforce.
