The American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Product Approval Protocol Task Group (PAPTG) is sponsoring an ACC Product Approval Code of Practice (COP) Auditor Training Workshop, which will be held on February 22, 2024, at the ACC Offices in Washington, DC.

For a Test Laboratory or Test Sponsor to achieve and maintain compliance, an annual external audit in accordance with Appendix J of the COP must be conducted by an auditor from the list of Approved Auditors.

This training is a specialized workshop intended to train existing and potential new ACC COP auditors.  It is not intended as an ACC COP primer or review for practitioners or general audiences.

Highlights of this workshop include:
  • an overview of the ACC Petroleum Additives Panel and PAPTG;
  • review and discussion of the ACC COP (March 2023 Edition) in its entirety, with emphasis on auditing;
  • a discussion of the new auditor approval process; and
  • a question-and-answer period.

ACC PAPTG is seeking new compliance Auditors to conduct audits that provide an independent evaluation of Test Laboratory and Test Sponsor compliance with the COP.

To be considered for the list of Approved Auditors, you must:

  1. Meet all requirements in the Auditor Approval Process for Conducting Product Approval Code of Practice Audits. Please submit this documentation to ACC by January 15, 2024.
  2. Complete and submit the Auditor Statement: Absence of Conflicts of Interest.  Please submit this documentation to ACC by January 15, 2024.
  3. Complete the training (virtual or in-person) on February 22, 2024.
