Responsible Care® companies are committed to tracking and transparently reporting their performance on a variety of environmental, health, safety and security metrics. ACC not only provides aggregate member company performance on its public website, but also data on individual member and Partner company performance for the past three years on specific metrics, including:
Individual Member Company Performance Reporting
Process Safety Events
ACC members and Responsible Care Partners use the American Petroleum Institute (API) Recommended Practice 754 methodology for reporting annual process safety incident information. Under this methodology, Tier 1 process safety incidents, which are defined as any unplanned or uncontrolled release of any material, are given a severity score ranging from 0 to 135, 0 being the lowest-severity incident and 135 being the maximum severity score.
View reportingDOT 5800 Incidents
ACC members and Responsible Care Partners track DOT 5800 incidents, which are hazardous material incidents that take place during transportation. These incidents are ranked by severity, with 1 being highest severity and 4 being lowest severity.
View reportingOSHA Incidence Rate
ACC members and Responsible Care Partners track total employee exposure hours for a given year, along with the Employee Recordable Incidence Rate, Days Away from Work Rate and Employee Fatalities for each year.
View reportingSOx & NOx Emissions
Protecting air quality is critical to public and environmental health. Nitrogen oxide (NOx) and sulfur oxide (SOx) are specific pollutants emitted by industrial and manufacturing facilities that can impact air quality, and thus can be used as core environmental air quality indicators. ACC member companies track and report their SOx and NOx emissions and have implemented a variety of measures to reduce these emissions.
View reportingWater Consumption
ACC member companies report the net water consumed, in millions of gallons, at their facilities on an annual basis.
