WASHINGTON (Feb. 14, 2025) – The American Chemistry Council (ACC) today announced the appointment of Ted Waugh to Vice President of Governance, Strategy & Corporate Secretary, effective Monday, February 17. In this role, Waugh will oversee ACC’s organizational governance, manage its Executive Committee and Board operations, and oversee ACC’s membership and meeting functions. Waugh has served the Council for 25 years in multiple legal services and business development roles.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Ted to ACC’s senior leadership team in this newly created role,” said ACC President and CEO, Chris Jahn. “The new position is both a reflection of Ted’s unique skills and experience and the evolving business and governance oversight needs of ACC and its members. Ted’s familiarity with our membership, combined with two and a half decades of institutional knowledge at ACC, will be instrumental to our success moving forward.”
The Vice President of Governance, Strategy & Corporate Secretary reflects a strategic split between ACC’s corporate secretary and general counsel functions while adding a new Governance oversight responsibility. Waugh will continue to serve as Acting General Counsel while ACC continues its search for a dedicated General Counsel to lead its Legal Services department.
