WASHINGTON (January 15, 2025) – The American Chemistry Council (ACC) issued the following statement highlighting its letter to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee urging Senate confirmation of Chris Wright as Secretary of Energy.
The following statement may be attributed to ACC President and CEO Chris Jahn:
“ACC strongly supports Chris Wright’s nomination and confirmation as Secretary of Energy. Mr. Wright has a proven track record of success in the energy sector. We look forward to working with him on retaining and expanding domestic energy production while improving energy efficiency, creating jobs, and growing the U.S. economy.
“As an energy-intensive industry, we endorse an energy abundance platform that embraces an ‘all-of-the-above’ approach. America needs diverse energy sources that remain abundant, affordable, reliable, and sustainable. We are confident that under Mr. Wright’s leadership, the Department of Energy will address our nation’s energy and environmental challenges through transformative science, innovation, and technology solutions – many created by the business of chemistry.
“The Committee and the Senate should move swiftly to confirm Chris Wright’s nomination and help unleash the power of American innovation.”
