Earlier this week, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and the Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) submitted a joint letter to the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW) expressing support for the confirmation of Lee Zeldin as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The following statement may be attributed to ACC President and CEO, Chris Jahn:

“Our industry produces innovative products that businesses and families rely on and help our nation compete across the globe. America’s chemical producers are the driving force behind today’s inventions and tomorrow’s discoveries, and this requires a level of sensibility, timeliness and certainty when it comes to regulatory policies.

“Mr. Zeldin’s impressive track record demonstrates his ability to effectively lead the EPA. We call on the Senate to confirm Mr. Zeldin’s nomination, enabling us to work together on science-based policies that promote innovation, support supply chain resiliency, and deliver responsible regulations to protect our environment and health while minimizing unnecessary burdens on U.S. businesses and hard-working Americans.”
