WASHINGTON (January 15, 2025) – Earlier this week the American Chemistry Council (ACC) joined with the Alliance for Chemical Distribution to submit a letter to the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, & Transportation expressing support for the confirmation of Sean Duffy as Secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOT).

The following statement may be attributed to ACC President and CEO, Chris Jahn:

“Mr. Duffy’s strong track record of getting things done speaks for itself and demonstrates why he should lead the DOT and guide the agency toward improving America’s transportation system.

“More than 25 percent of the U.S. economy depends on chemistry and our industry relies on all modes of transportation to deliver chemicals that are crucial to everyday life.  We encourage the Senate to confirm Mr. Duffy so we can work with him as DOT’s next Secretary to ensure that we have a world class transportation system that allows our industry to support a stronger, affordable America.”
