Formaldehyde Medicine Medical Applications 

Formaldehyde and its derivatives are used early in the upstream supply chain to make compounds used in the creation of life-saving medical devices (for example: pacemakers, artificial heart valves, and prostheses). Formaldehyde is well known as a preservative in medical laboratories and its use as a sterilizer. Formaldehyde is an active ingredient in anti-infective drugs and is used in gel capsules to promote maximum absorption.
