WASHINGTON, DC (February 24, 2023) — The American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Plastics Division is pleased to announce additional details and the confirmed keynote speaker for its inaugural Innovation & Circularity Summit:

When:  June 28-29, 2023
Where: Orlando, Fla. at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort
Learn More: www.circularitysummit.org, registration is now open!

The inaugural Innovation & Circularity Summit will feature keynote speaker Liliana M. Esposito, Wendy’s chief corporate affairs & sustainability officer. Ms. Esposito leads Wendy’s corporate responsibility strategy, called Good Done Right. As part of Wendy’s Good Done Right goals, the company has a near-term commitment to sustainably source 100% of its customer-facing packaging in North America by 2026.

The Summit is the only U.S. conference focused on accelerating a circular economy for plastics and the role of advanced recycling in doing so. The Summit will bring together key stakeholders from the plastics value chain including consumer-facing brands that use plastics in products and packaging for major market sectors, such as: automotive, building and construction, food, fashion, and consumer goods.

Attendees of the Summit will learn how companies across the value chain are leveraging technological innovations in recycling and incorporating sustainability into their business models.  They will also hear how stakeholders are advocating and communicating on issues supporting plastics’ circularity with policymakers and customers. Most importantly, attendees will be able to build networks across the value chain to overcome challenges and accelerate circularity solutions at their companies.

Specific topics will include:

  • Increasing the availability of recycled plastic to meet consumer demand
  • Growing circularity in healthcare, auto and textile sectors
  • Financing the circular economy for plastics
  • Enacting sound public policies to help accelerate a circular economy
  • Overcoming barriers to circularity, including recycling access, collection, and sortation

Stay tuned for future announcements as we continue to build an impressive lineup of expert speakers and topics.
