ACC Announces 2021 Responsible Care® Energy Efficiency Award Winners

WASHINGTON (April 26, 2021) – The American Chemistry Council (ACC) today honored its member companies for implementing energy efficiency improvements in 2020. ACC presented Energy Efficiency Awards to 15 companies, and 6 of the companies received a designation of “Exceptional Merit.”  ACC President and CEO Chris Jahn announced the winners at the virtual 2021 Responsible Care® & Sustainability Conference.

The Responsible Care Energy Efficiency Awards program is among several ACC initiatives to improve energy efficiency. When developing their environmental, health, safety and security plans, member companies are required to consider operational energy efficiency and waste minimization, reuse and recycling.

“Our member companies are continually looking for ways to improve energy efficiency in their manufacturing and operations,” Jahn said. “The companies recognized today are leading the way, demonstrating our industry’s commitment to sustainability through energy savings and lower greenhouse gas emissions.”

The companies receiving awards in 2021 are listed below. Some companies won multiple awards. An asterisk (*) denotes an “Exceptional Merit” award designation for at least one of the projects awarded.

ACC member companies nominate specific projects for recognition under the award program. The judging committee that determined the winners is comprised of select ACC member companies.
