Vice President of Federal Affairs
As Vice President of Federal Affairs of the American Chemistry Council (ACC), Walter Moore is responsible for helping to set, shape and guide the association’s federal legislative priorities. His responsibilities include oversight of direct lobbying activities, industry coalitions, and AmeriChem PAC, the ACC’s political action committee.
Prior to joining ACC, Mr. Moore served a total of sixteen years as Senior Director then Vice President of Government Affairs of Genentech, a global leader in the field of biotechnology. There he was responsible for Genentech’s relationships with local, state and federal governments and all public policy positions adopted by the company.
Previously, Mr. Moore held positions at Eli Lilly and Company as Manager of Government Relations, and Pfizer, Inc. as Director of Congressional Relations. In addition to his corporate experience, he holds significant association and political experience including the American Hospital Association, the Federal Election Commission and the office of Sen. Lloyd Bentsen.
Mr. Moore has a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a master of public administration degree from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.
